LOCATION: Above address is located on the Homosassa River---those with email capability should open the Homosassa Riverside Resort web http://riversideresortsbanquet.com This web provides driving directions for those coming in from Inverness, Orlando, or Tampa, room descriptions & rates, plus available facilities including marina, restaurant, bars & private meeting/dining rooms. Transportation, meals, lodging, bar bill and activities will be paid by each person attending on separate individual bills.
We will mail the web information to those who do not have email.
ARRIVAL:
We are now registered as "DE1033 Reunion" with the resort and I will make a BLOCK Reservation for of rooms based on the number stating that they would attend. Each person must call them at 352-628-2474 to confirm their room reservation with their credit card. Please plan to check in Sunday evening 3/27 and check out Thursday morning 3/31. We want this to be a three full days of reunion & activities with our Shipmates. Should you plan to arrive late or depart early, please let Bob and I know the dates you will require motel rooms. We need to know so we can make a "Block" reservation for rooms. A response from everyone is requested not later than until 2/20/11. to confirm the dates you'll need a room.
The following plan for our reunion is based on a relaxed fun time with the main objective of having time together to share our memories of times onboard DE1033:
Monday .
AM breakfast at the restaurant, register & get name tags. Short tour of the resort facilities & marina, river boat ride for those interested.
Lunch in the resort restaurant private room followed by visiting there & later in the Yardarm bar.
Dinner reservations will be made with directions provided to "Charlie's " Restaurant in Crystal River. Great view on the river there & seafood fare.
Tuesday.
AM breakfast again at the resort restaurant. Tour the nature attraction at the Homosassa River Spring or short boat rides on the river.
For lunch & an afternoon visit together we'll drive up to Peck's Cove Restaurant & Bar in Ozello on the Gulf. Great "Florida Cracker" style seafood, good bar, private dining room and outside picnic tables for a few beers & visiting after lunch thru the afternoon. This area is old Florida and has beautiful sunsets.
PM return to our Resort for a light dinner at the Yardarm Bar or upstairs restaurant.
Wednesday:
AM breakfast again at the resort restaurant. For those interested in light tackle fishing on the Gulf flats, our William Toney and other Homosassa River guides are available for half day charters for 1 or 2 couples. FYI William Toney's web is http://www.homosassainshorefishing.com .
A local friend and I have two 22ft pontoon boats on the river and plan to take those groups interested out for some boat rides. The Homosassa River is about 7 miles long from the Spring to the Gulf.
Lunch & Dinner visiting together at the resort restaurant and Yardarm Bar and at Macrae's Marina open Bar on the river.
Thursday:
AM checkout after this great reunion.
